Terms of service

Who we are and when these terms apply

DexterWebStudio is the trading name of Dexter Cutts, operating from 1290 Vaud, Switzerland. It is not a registered company. Contact us at contact@dexterwebstudio.com. We provide website design, development and related services to business and personal-use customers.

These terms apply to use of our website and, when provided and agreed before an order, to our services. Browsing or requesting a free preview does not place a paid order. Your written quotation and agreed scope identify the deliverables, price, currency, payment schedule, responsibilities and estimate. An agreed project-specific term takes priority over a general service term; mandatory legal rights always take priority. We confirm paid work in writing before starting it. You must have authority to order on behalf of a business, or any consent required to enter a contract.

Free preview

The normal preview is free and carries no obligation to buy. We aim to send it within 1–3 calendar days after submission; incomplete information or unusual requirements may affect this estimate, and we explain relevant delays. It normally demonstrates the homepage or design direction on a temporary address, not a complete finished website. Some functions may be demonstrations. One small adjustment is included; further work must be agreed.

The unpurchased preview build belongs to DexterWebStudio and may be removed. Your supplied materials remain yours. A preview request is separate from paid development and is not consent to marketing.

Website scope and prices

Managed Business Websites start at €200; full-ownership Business Websites start at €300. The usual starting scope is one page with about six main sections, mobile-friendly design, a contact form, basic SEO and accessibility practices, domain connection, the first two languages within the agreed page scope, two revision rounds and 14 days of agreed post-launch support. Additional pages, features or complex work require a quote.

Online Stores receive a custom quote, with an indicative €500–€1,200 range for a straightforward Shopify setup. You own and manage the store. Initial setup includes up to 20 products and up to five variants per included product; extra uploads and assistance are quoted separately. Shopify and other provider fees are separate.

Public starting prices are in EUR. Swiss customers normally receive their final quotation in CHF. The written quote states the final price and currency; it is normally valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. DexterWebStudio is not VAT registered and does not add VAT to its charges. Third-party taxes or charges remain governed by the relevant provider.

Payment and third-party costs

We accept PayPal, bank transfer and TWINT. Normally 50% is due before paid development, with the balance due after final approval and before launch or full-ownership handover. Larger projects may have a written instalment or milestone schedule. Any exception to payment before launch must be expressly agreed in writing. Receiving a deposit alone does not mean paid work has started.

Domain registration and renewals, hosting or platform charges, business email, paid apps, booking services and other external fees are separate, including for managed websites. Known recurring charges are explained before agreement; paid additions require approval. You normally pay providers directly. Your bank or provider may charge currency-conversion fees. We do not promise that external services will remain free or unchanged forever.

Content, revisions and timing

Provide accurate information, lawful content and the rights or permission needed for supplied text, images, logos and other material. Check business details, prices and content before final approval. Use account invitations or suitable collaborator permissions where available and protect your own recovery details.

Two revision rounds are included before final approval, each comprising one consolidated list. Corrections of our mistakes do not use a round. A redesign after approval, new features and work outside scope require a separate agreement.

Work is scheduled once the deposit and required content are received. A simple one-page website normally takes a few days to one week, sometimes two weeks or longer; multi-page websites generally take 1–2 weeks, sometimes around three. Stores normally take 2–3 weeks within an estimated 2–5-week range. The project estimate, complexity, approvals and technical circumstances determine the actual schedule; these are not guaranteed deadlines unless expressly agreed.

Normally respond to information or approval requests within seven calendar days. We send reminders on days 7, 10 and 12 and may pause on day 14 if there is still no response. Agreed absences are treated separately. A pause is not cancellation; resumption depends on availability. The price normally stays the same unless changed requirements or relevant circumstances justify an agreed revision. Overdue payments may separately pause unfinished work under the written payment terms; the inactivity reminder schedule does not automatically apply to them.

Ownership, access and handover

For managed websites, DexterWebStudio retains ownership of the agreed build and manages it under the agreed arrangement. You retain your domain and supplied materials. The standard full-ownership upgrade is an additional €100; complex migration or additional development may cost extra. Another developer taking over a managed build requires the appropriate ownership handover first.

Full ownership transfers the agreed build after payment of the agreed balance, unless otherwise expressly agreed. It includes relevant account access, an interface for supported content changes, handover guidance and written or recorded instructions. Transferable files or a repository copy are available on request. The standard training includes you and one additional staff member. Platform services and licensed components remain subject to their own terms and cannot be transferred beyond their licence.

Handover explains accounts, domain, platform, recurring costs, apps, editing and available recovery options. Code version history is not a backup of every editable item, order or customer record. Enhanced backups require a separate agreement. Support access is retained only with permission when needed; unnecessary access is removed. Portfolio display or testimonials require appropriate permission.

Support, cancellation and responsibilities

Our Editing & Support Policy explains the included 14 days, optional editing plans and later assistance. Our Refunds & Cancellations Policy explains cancellation, deposits and consumer withdrawal. Neither the deposit nor the support period overrides mandatory rights concerning defective or undelivered work.

We use reasonable care and skill. Basic SEO, performance and accessibility work does not guarantee search rankings, sales, a perfect speed score, uninterrupted service, complete security or formal accessibility certification. External providers control their own availability and terms. Report problems so we can assess the cause and available remedy. These statements do not exclude liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence.

Do not misuse the website, infringe rights, upload unlawful material or attempt unauthorised access. We may restrict abusive or unlawful use where justified and lawful; this does not automatically remove rights concerning paid services. Client legal content and specialist compliance advice remain outside our standard website-build service.

Privacy, complaints and applicable law

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain personal-data handling. Contact contact@dexterwebstudio.com about any complaint, identifying the project and desired resolution.

Swiss law applies subject to mandatory protections available under other applicable law. Consumers retain any mandatory rights and competent courts available in their country; this clause does not require them to use a court where the law gives them another choice. Updates apply to future agreements, not retrospectively to an existing agreed scope or price without agreement or a lawful basis. We communicate material changes affecting an ongoing service as required.
